Florida Theme Parks Report Accidents from Q2

Orlando is known as the land of theme parks. Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld each operate multiple parks in the area and there are countless other attractions that offer carnival-style rides. While the odds are slim that a given park visitor will experience an accident, each quarter the parks are required to file reports on any accidents, including health incidents.

The Disney World accident s reported for the second quarter of 2010 include two health incidents associated with the Expedition Everest ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In one case a 74 year old male experienced dizziness and felt ill after the ride. In a separate incident a 54 year old man reported trouble breathing after taking the ride and later suffered a heart attack. Other incidents at Disney parks included health issues associated with Spaceship Earth, Mission: Space, and Kilimanjaro Safaris as well as injuries sustained at Castaway Creek and the Mad Tea Party.

Universal reported two guests experiencing back pain after riding one of the park’s newest roller coasters , the Rip Ride Rockit. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens did not report any accidents during the second quarter. While at Wet n’ Wild, one of the smaller parks in the area, a 54 year old female experienced chest pains in the wave pool at the park.
