The original 1879 version was based on the 1st National Confederate flag. The 1956 version was 2/3rds Confederate. The 2001-2003 version had 2 former Confederate themed state flags and was itself based on a Civil War flag. The current flag is 95% Confederate based. California state flag is historically innaccurate - as it was SUPPOSED to be a picture of a Pear, not a Bear. New Hampshire's flag depicts a ship- built be Americans- but was taken by British forces and used against Americans during the Revolutionary War.
